Day 1: Invitation to the Ancient Capital
Afternoon arrival: Transportation by private car, check-in at a shukubo (temple near Kofuku-ji or Nan’endo)
Evening introduction to meditation: Lecture by abbot on the basics of meditation and how to prepare your mind
Dinner: vegetarian meal using local seasonal ingredients
Evening sutra copying experience: Quiet sutra copying time by candlelight
Day 2: Prepare your mind and body
Early morning sutra reading experience: Participation in morning sutra reading with the priest (starts at 5:30)
Breakfast: vegetarian morning rice porridge and a small bowl of local vegetables
Morning: “Buddhist Art and Meditation Tour” to Todaiji Temple and Nigatsudo Hall (with expert guide)
Lunch: Nara traditional tea porridge and local cuisine
Afternoon: Mindfulness walking in the Kasuga-yama Primeval Forest
Evening: Special prayer and visit to Kasuga Taisha Shrine
Evening: Zazen instruction and meditation session
